FRIDAY:

ASCOT: Ballads and Baubles, a show by Spotlights Musical Theatre Group, will take place today (Friday), with Christmas music and readings accompanied by mulled wine and mince pies from 7.30pm.

ETON: Get that festive feeling and fly your reindeer down to Eton Library this afternoon (Friday) for Christmas stories and crafts.

The free session takes place at 2.30-4pm.

There is no need to book, just turn up.

Children under eight must be accompanied by an adult.


MAIDENHEAD: Live music, dancing and Italian cooking demonstrations are among the surprises revealed so far as part of Enjoy Maidenhead’s Living Advent Calendar.

Events are taking place at 5pm each day at different locations in the town centre.

Saturday, December 12: Norden Farm Lantern Parade, Town Hall

Sunday, December 13: The Bell, King Street


MAIDENHEAD: The annual Christmas concert arranged by the National Rheumatoid Arthritis Society (NRAS) is set to take place today (Friday).

The event will be held at All Saints Church in Boyn Hill, Maidenhead from 7-9pm.

The evening will be a mix of music featuring Cox Green Brass Band, soloist William Branston and White Waltham School.

Entry is free, with a collection taking place during the concert.

A glass of wine and mince pies will be available after the concert.


MAIDENHEAD: A three-day Christmas Tree Festival at St Luke’s Church begins today (Friday).

The community event sees businesses and community groups sponsor and decorate real trees.

Visitors can vote for their favourite and donations will go to charities.

The festival will be open tomorrow from 10am-7pm, with a free concert by River City Saxes at 1pm, Saturday from 10am-7pm, and Sunday from 2-6pm, followed by a service.

There will be stalls selling Christmas gifts and crafts, a bookstall, raffle and refreshments.


SATURDAY:

BURNHAM: The talents of actor Will Mellor and his dancer wife Michelle will be shared with children and adults at the new Mellor Performing Arts School in the new year.

A range of classes taking in musical theatre, dance and acting are set to start at Burnham Park Hall in Windsor Lane, Burnham.

Classes will range from baby ballet, to street jazz for both adults and children, to musical theatre and pilates.

COOKHAM: It’s the final curtain call for music lovers to grab tickets for a top festive concert.

The Cantorum Choir is set to perform favourite Christmas carols at a concert at Holy Trinity Church, in Church Gate, on Saturday at 7.30pm.


DATCHET: There will be food, fun and festive activities tomorrow (Saturday) at the Christmas Together Celebration at Datchet Baptist Church.

The event is open to adults and children and anyone is welcome to attend.

It will run from 4-7pm at the church in London Road.


HOLYPORT: Phoenix Gymnastics Club to due to host its last ever Christmas Show at its current site in Water Oakley Farm over Saturday and Sunday.

Over the two days, about 130 dancers and gymnasts are expected to wow a total audience of more than 300 with a range of individual, squad and group routines.

It will be the 12th edition of the biennial show.

LANGLEY: Second Langley Guides has organised a table top sale at Kedermister Hall tomorrow (Saturday) from 10am.

There will be a variety of stalls to browse and buy from.

MAIDENHEAD: Santa’s annual pre-Christmas tour of the town is under way thanks to Maidenhead Round Table.

Every year for the past 65 years, the Round Table has ensured Santa and his helpers ride through the streets to meet children and raise hundreds of pounds for the charitable group.

MAIDENHEAD: Enjoy Maidenhead’s Christmas events programme continues with toy reindeer racing in the Nicholsons Centre on Saturday.

Run by the Rotary Club of Maidenhead Bridge, the racing takes place between 10am and 4pm to raise money for local charities.

On Sunday, and next Sunday, December 20 there will be a Santa’s grotto in the high street between 11am and 3pm.

Weekend parking in the town centre car parks is free between now and Boxing Day.

MAIDENHEAD: Workshops have been taking place ahead of the Community Lantern Parade on Saturday.

Animal-themed creations have been made at a number of sessions, including one held at Art on the Street on Saturday and one at Woodlands Park Primary School on Monday.

Live music starts at 4.30pm on Saturday before the parade departs from the town hall in St Ives Road at 5pm.


SUNNINGHILL: Cordes Hall cinema, in King's Road, Sunninghill, will run tomorrow (Saturday).

Tickets are £5 for adults and £3 for children, apart from a £1 special for the 11am screening.

WINDSOR: Enjoy a festive feast of traditional and contemporary Christmas music at Windsor Christmas Charity Concert tomorrow evening (Saturday).

It will take place at Windsor Parish Church in the High Street at 7pm.

There will be music from the Ascot Brass Band and Taplow Youth Choir.

Admission is free and there will be a collection for Macmillan Cancer Support.


WINDSOR: The annual concert of the Royal Free Singers will take place tomorrow (Saturday).

It starts at 7.30pm at Christchurch United Reformed Church in William Street.

The community choir practices every Wednesday at Trevelyan School.

The concert is free but there will be a retiring collection for a homeless charity.


WOODLANDS PARK: A Woodlands Winter Wonderland will be open for visitors at Phipps Close Recreation Area on Saturday.

The event is free to attend and attractions are set to include games, refreshments, Christmas carols and a Santa’s grotto. It runs from 2.30-4pm and is organised by Woodlands Community Events – a collaboration of White Waltham Church, Woodlands Park Methodist Church, Housing Solutions and residents.


SUNDAY:

BRITWELL: The Baptist Church in Long Furlong Drive will host a carol service this Sunday from 6.30pm.

The church will open its doors to anybody who wants to go along and enjoy the festive hymns and there will be drinks and warm mince pies on offer.


BURNHAM: A Christmas musical evening will be taking place on Sunday in aid of the Well@Lent Rise charity.

There will be carols and live musical entertainment put on at the Pines Hotel in Wymers Wood Road.

The Well@Lent Rise organises support groups within the Burnham community for both the young and elderly, as well as vulnerable people.

The Christmas Party is £6 per person. Tickets can be bought from Vivienne Ely on 01628 605231.


MAIDENHEAD: Fresh produce will again be on sale in Grove Road car park as Maidenhead Farmers’ Market returns on Sunday.

The market, now in its 16th year, will run between 10am and 1pm.

OLD WINDSOR: A brass band and street entertainers will be coming to the village on Sunday.

This year’s Christmas fair will be in the St Lukes Road shopping area from 3.30-6.30pm.

There will be a range of stalls, a Santa’s grotto and a festive ride for children.


OLD WINDSOR: A free disco will take a place at the Old Windsor Club on Sunday.

Everyone is welcome to the disco at the club in St Luke’s Road from 6-7.30pm, after the Old Windsor Christmas Fair.


SONNING: More than 100 candles will light up St Andrew’s Church to create a Dickensian Christmas fair on Sunday.

The church in Thames Street will be filled with stalls, including festive gifts and mince pies. Children will have the opportunity to meet and receive a gift from Father Christmas.

The fayre will be open between 2pm and 4pm, and costs £2 for adults and £1 for children. All proceeds go to the church’s community hall appeal.


WINDSOR: A Christmas concert at Holy Trinity Church will raise money for Thames Hospice.

The concert will take place at the church in Claremont Road at 3pm on Sunday.

Entrance costs £5 and the concert will be followed by mulled wine and mince pies.
