A Carnival Queen will have another chance to shine when she takes part in Miss Teen Great Britain in September.
Georgia Casey, from Burnham, will represent Buckinghamshire in the finals of the competition in Blackpool for a fun-filled weekend of activities culminating in a grand final on Sunday, September 30. The event sees 50 regional nominees go head-to-head in a pageant, with the overall winner gaining a range of prizes and an introduction to one of Britain's leading teen modelling agencies.
The news follows disappointment for the 15-year-old, who missed out on the opportunity to be star of the show for Burnham Carnival's annual parade when it was cancelled last month.
Georgia said: "I knew these pageants happen but I wasn't really aware of too much about them. I just wanted to try it as something new. I hadn't done anything like this before."
The Redroofs Theatre School pupil has pledged to donate half the competition's prize money to children's charity Rosie's Rainbow if she wins. She will also raise funds for Claire House Children's Hospice in the Wirral, which the competition backs.
