Police at Taplow Lake in 1987
Thames Valley Police has arrested a man on suspicion of the murder of Shani Warren, who was found dead in 1987.
A 65-year-old man was arrested on Tuesday morning. He has since been released under investigation.
Shani Warren's body was discovered in Taplow Lake a day after she had disappeared on Good Friday, April 17, 1987.
The Stoke Pogesresident, who worked for MicroScope in Maidenhead, was 26 years old at the time of her death.
Her body was found bound and gagged by a woman walking her dog, who then pulled her from three feet of water with the help of a motorist.
Police opened a murder inquiry three days after Ms Warren’s death, when a post mortem found she had died from drowning.
The subsequent inquest recorded an open verdict but the case has remained unsolved for 34 years, with no one being charged over her death during that time.
