Second delay for controversial Bishop Centre plans

BishopCentreA decision on controversial development plans at The Bishop Centre in Taplow has been delayed for a second time.

South Bucks District Council's (SBDC) planning committee meets on Wednesday, February 15, but plans for a 131,500 sq ft redevelopment including a 55,000 sq ft Tesco and 10 to 12 smaller retail units will not be heard at the meeting.

A decision on the application had already been delayed from December 29 while SBDC waited for extra information from site owner Land Securities.

That information has been received but SBDC is now waiting for comments from the highway authority.

Taplow parish councillors have previously raised concerns over traffic and parking estimations for the site in Bath Road.

More than 100 letters of objection were received over the plans but there were no letters of support.

It is hoped the application will be considered on March 14.
