A well-travelled former Cippenham schoolteacher has died. Family and friends are mourning the death of Kathleen Fitton, who passed away peacefully at Forget Me Not residential home in Burnham Lane on on April 22. The great grandmother had been looking forward to celebrating her 100th birthday this year. Born in Oldham in 1912, she had three sisters and a brother.
A desperately worried mother says the whereabouts of her missing teenage son is a 'mystery'. Jordan Bartlett (left), of Biddles Close, Cippenham, was reported missing to police on Friday evening by a friend who was concerned for his welfare. The 19-year-old who works at Asda in Telford Drive, made contact with a friend at about 4.30pm but has not been seen since and has not been in touch with his family.
A mad for it duo will double the length of their charity cycle if enough funds are raised for the British Heart Foundation. Mark Bannister and David Lane are taking part in the London to Brighton Night Ride 2012, overnight on May 26. Mark and David, shortened to M.A.D for their team name, have pledged that if they raise £1,000 they will turn around and ride back again once they have completed the route.
The family of missing teenager Jordan Bartlett have made a renewed personal appeal for his safe return. The 19-year-old (left), of Biddles Close, Cippenham, has been missing since 4.30pm on Friday, when a concerned friend contacted police. The former Westgate School pupil, who works at Asda in Telford Drive, left a series of troubled messages on Facebook the day he disappeared.
Cycling and scootering schoolchildren have won an award. Pupils at Cippenham Infant School in Dennis Way showed off their Big Pedal certificate on Monday.
The Dennis Way school took part in the Big Pedal in March.
The giant inter-school cycling competition took place across the country, organised by charity Sustrans and funded by the Bike Hub.
