Parish councillor drops in to coffee morning
Coffee and conversation were top of the agenda at a parish councillor drop-in on Wednesday.
Burnham parish councillor Edwina Glover chatted informally with villagers at The Meeting Place, a weekly coffee morning held at Burnham Methodist Church in Eastfield Road.
Issues raised included potholes, blue badge parking permits for the disabled and South Bucks District Council's decision last year to stop supplying free black bin bags.
"I can only attend The Meeting Place in half terms but I brought away some queries," said Cllr Glover, who works as an administrator at Slough Grammar School.
The drop-in is held by The Well @ Lent Rise each Wednesday from 9-11.30am.
Members of Burnham's neighbourhood police team often attend as well as staff from Burnham Children's Centre.
Cllr Glover added: "For the older generation it's a good reason to get out of the house and mix with other people. People need a sense of purpose and this seems to be giving them that."
