Burnham Park E-Act Academy opens today

The new Burnham Park E-Act Academy opens its doors for the first time today.

The academy replaces Burnham Upper School, which technically closed before the Easter holiday.

Former IT executive Nabil Chaaban was appointed as the new principal last month.

Pupils will be wearing their new uniforms, including a black blazer with a new school badge featuring an oak leaf and acorn.

The school's conversion to an academy was approved in January after it was placed in special measures in March last year.

Sharon Yardley was appointed interim headteacher the following month when Max Bilsborough left to take a post at East Berkshire College.
